Inclusion & Diversity Initiatives

MUFG has designated Inclusion & Diversity as one of its 10 priority issues in sustainability management in order to realize our purpose of being “Committed to empowering a brighter future.”

Our core companies, MUFG Bank, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking, Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, and Mitsubishi UFJ NICOS have specialized Inclusion & Diversity Offices to further focus on these endeavors under the commitment of top management. In 2018, the Group started the integrated operation of the corporate center function and MUFG Bank, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking, and Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities are working together to promote diversity in the Group.

Selected for Bloomberg's Gender-Equality Index

MUFG has been selected for Bloomberg's Gender-Equality Index . This index was developed by Bloomberg to evaluate companies' efforts toward gender equality, the workplace environment, information disclosure, and other achievements. MUFG is recognized for its initiatives toward gender equality.

Selected for Nadeshiko Brand

MUFG has been selected for inclusion in Nadeshiko Brand, a recognition jointly conferred by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and  Industry(METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange(TSE).

 

The Nadeshiko Brand recognizes outstanding TSE-listed enterprises that are empowering women in the workplace. This designation has been conducted annually since FY2012 as a means of showcasing attractive stocks for investors with an emphasis on improving corporate value over the medium- to long-term. This not only encourages investment in companies selected for the designation but also ams to accelerate TSE-listed companies' efforts to support women's empowerment measures.
